Elon Musk Leaves $200-Billion-Club Empty

Geopolitical tensions affecting global stock markets have also cut into the fortunes of the world’s wealthiest.

The richest man on the planet has lost a large chunk of his wealth after Tesla shares fell 13 percent on Wednesday.

Until yesterday, Tesla CEO Elon Musk was the only person whose wealth exceeded $200 billion, leaving the club-of-the-over-$200-billionaires empty. In the past, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos’ wealth also reached the $200 billion thresholds, the report says.

Musk’s wealth reached a record $340.4 billion in November last year, after which he sold over $16 billion worth of stock and donated $5.7 billion to charity.
