We report it ourselves
Stories are checked with the companies and people involved. If we cannot stand behind a claim, it does not run.
About
A weekly read on retail, e-commerce and the consumer economy in Asia.

Our newsroom, somewhere between two deadlines.
Covering Asian retail since 2014.
Editors, analysts and correspondents.
Executives, operators, investors.
Reported, not rewritten.
Our mission
RetailNews Asia covers the business of retail in Asia: who is opening, closing, buying, listing and losing money, and what that means for the people who have to make decisions about it on Monday morning.
We started in 2014 because the region's retail news was scattered across local press, filings and PR wires, mostly in languages head offices could not read. We report in English, from brick-and-mortar to e-commerce, food retail to fashion, family chains to listed majors.
Around 13.6 million visits a month come from operators, suppliers, investors and analysts. Most of them read us before a meeting, not instead of one.
Principles
Stories are checked with the companies and people involved. If we cannot stand behind a claim, it does not run.
Deals, results, store counts and market data - explained in a few hundred words rather than a few thousand.
No spam, no list swapping. Sponsored posts carry a label and are written by the advertiser, not by our editors.

A note from the founder
"I wanted a paper I could read in ten minutes and still walk into a supplier meeting knowing what had happened that week in Asia. Nobody was making it, so we did."
