DFS Group, the world’s leading luxury travel retailer, has partnered with Ant Financial Services Group, a related company of Alibaba Group, to launch Alipay at DFS, San Francisco International Airport, the first offline retailer in California to provide Alipay’s mobile payment option. Alipay, which provides consumers with fast, easy and safe mobile payment, caters to DFS’ global customer base that seeks out convenience and service when shopping in travel retail.

“DFS is thrilled to partner with Ant Financial to bring leading mobile payment system Alipay exclusively in California to DFS, San Francisco International Airport,” said Mark Sullivan, Managing Director North America, DFS Group. “Here at DFS, we strive each day to ensure our customers receive the world’s best in customer service which means continuously innovating the shopping experience to meet their needs. With demand for mobile payment growing throughout retail, we are confident that with Alipay as our exclusive partner, customers will be delighted with this new and convenient approach to shopping with DFS.”

To celebrate the launch, DFS will offer shoppers an exclusive promotion until November 30, offering 20 percent off key Origins beauty products when purchasing with the Alipay mobile app.

“DFS represents the most innovative approach to travel retail and we are excited to partner with them to continue to evolve this experience with the introduction of Alipay,” said Souheil Badran, President and General Manager, Alipay North America.

This is the sixth DFS location to implement Alipay’s mobile payment system, which is also available at T Galleria stores in Hong Kong and Singapore as well as DFS, Hong Kong International Airport.
